Social Media: Why Doesn’t Work for Me?
We all know that currently, social media is the most powerful space for those who want to do self-branding, commerce, open relations, and a bigger space for discussion. And also as we all understand, there are various alternatives to social media platforms at this time. The question is, why sometimes a good strategy doesn’t work when we apply it personally? Why Social Media Might Not Work for You!
Today I’m going to tell you like it is on a topic that may not be popular in some social media circles, but it’s a message that you have no choice but to confront.
Social Media is ((Social)) Media
I see many folks on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and so on, missing a huge opportunity by breaking a cardinal social rule. (Yes, social rule, not just social media.) They are only talking about themselves.
Have you ever gone to a party and met that guy who talked your face off about his career, and his latest vacation, and so on, without once asking you about yourself?
It’s fine to use social media as a platform to spread your message, but for heaven’s sake, take a breather daily to check in and see what everyone else is saying!
So, What must I become during this social-media-circle?
First of all, Point of Differentiation — You must have a clear and concise point of differentiation that a niche market (a segment of the mainstream) truly values and understands.
Point of View Content (POVC) — You must have a remarkable report, ebook, or guide that demonstrates your methodology or process. The purpose of this specific piece of content is to educate interested prospects on the method or process you use to get them a result and ignite your selling efforts.
Engagement — Getting positive features and mentions of your business, service, products, people, and events in the media channels that your niche market consumes are essential for social media success.
I believe that if you invest a few minutes every day in your social media engagement, you’ll see an increase in your number of “likes” and followers, and as a result, you’ll get much more from the entire social media experience.
Reply just to show you’re human. There’s nothing worse than a Twitter feed full of self-talk. Take the time to sift through your followers and reply to interesting Tweets. See what’s trending or seems to be the big news of the day and take that opportunity to show your human side by sharing something related — in a positive sense. Social media lets you sit back and show your human side. So take advantage of that!
